Waldemar joined the Cretan Matter-Waves Group in May 2009 as in order to do his diploma thesis for the University for Applied Sciences Emden-Leer in Germany. He is co-supervised by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Walter Neu. Before coming here he has been at the Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2007 on an Erasmus Scholarship. From October 2008 until May 2009 he was a visiting undergraduate student at the The Photonic Materials and Devices - Laboratory of Dr. Stavros Pissadakis at IESL-FORTH, working on Bragg gratings in Photonic Crystal Fibres.

He now returned to Germany to finish off his degree.
