The GiaSaaS mission to send a Greek satellite into space has been selected by ESA as the most suitable mission for a Greek LEO telecommunication satellite. It will be lead by OHB-Hellas and encompasses a Pan-Greek consortium of companies and universities, including the Libre-Space-Foundation, the National Observatory of Athens, the The Microprocessors Laboratory and Digital Systems Lab of the NTUA, the Greek Center for Security Studies (KEMEA).
The-IESL-Space-Optics-Lab will be in charge of optical communications between the satellite and an upgraded Skinakas-Observatory.
